1. Who is responsible
PickupChain is operated by:

PickupChain

Germany
Email: info@pickupchain.com
Because we are based in the European Union, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies to how we handle personal data, no matter where you are located. For visitors in the United States, we also describe your state privacy rights below.
2. Browsing the site
When you visit PickupChain, your browser automatically sends technical information to our servers, such as your IP address, browser type, the page you requested, the referring page, and the date and time. Our hosting and network providers need this to deliver pages, keep the site secure, and prevent abuse. These server logs are kept only briefly and are not combined with other data to identify you.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
3. Visitor statistics (Cloudflare Web Analytics)
To understand which pages are useful, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics. It is privacy-friendly: it does not set cookies, does not use local storage for tracking, does not fingerprint your device, and does not follow you across other websites. We only see aggregated numbers such as page views, countries, and referring sites.
Provider: Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. Legal basis: legitimate interest in improving our site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
4. Your account and garage
You can use PickupChain without an account. If you sign up, we store your email address, your name if you provide it, and a securely hashed password (we never see your password in plain text). We also store what you add to your account, such as vehicles in your garage, saved parts, and builds.
When you register, we send you a confirmation email so we know the address belongs to you. Account emails are delivered by our email provider (see section 10).
Legal basis: providing the account you asked for (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). You can delete your account at any time by contacting us at info@pickupchain.com; we will then delete your account data unless we are legally required to keep it.
5. Deals, affiliate links and click tracking
PickupChain earns money through affiliate programs. When you click “View Deal”, we record which offer you clicked: the product, the retailer, the vehicle you had selected (if any), and the time. We use this to count clicks, check that commissions are paid correctly, and see which deals are useful. We do not use it to build a profile about you.
The click then takes you through a tracking link of an affiliate program, currently Awin, CJ (Commission Junction) or the Amazon Associates Program, to the retailer’s website. At that point, the affiliate network and the retailer may set cookies or similar technologies on their own sites so they can attribute a purchase to PickupChain. This happens outside our website and under their privacy policies:
- Awin: awin.com/us/privacy
- CJ: cj.com/legal/privacy
- Amazon: Amazon.com Privacy Notice
Retailers never receive your PickupChain account details from us. Legal basis for our own click records: legitimate interest in operating and financing the site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
6. Newsletter
If you sign up for our deals newsletter, we use a double opt-in: you only receive emails after confirming the link we send you. We store your email address, the time of sign-up and confirmation, and your preferences. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email.
Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time.
7. SMS deal alerts
If you opt in to text message alerts, we store your mobile number, the time and source of your consent, and your alert preferences. Messages are sent through Twilio Inc. (101 Spear Street, San Francisco, CA 94105, USA). Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to unsubscribe, or HELP for help.
We do not sell or share your mobile number or SMS opt-in consent with third parties for their marketing purposes. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time.
8. AI search assistant
Some pages offer an AI assistant for truck and parts questions. The text you type is sent to Google (Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA) to generate an answer, which may include live web search results. Please don’t enter personal information into the assistant. Legal basis: legitimate interest in offering this feature (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR); using it is entirely optional.
9. Cookies and storage on your device
We keep this minimal and don’t use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies on PickupChain.
- Login cookies: if you sign in, a cookie keeps you logged in. It is strictly necessary for your account to work.
- Language cookie: if you choose a language, we remember your choice in a cookie so the site opens in that language next time.
- Local storage: we may remember settings such as your selected vehicle or your cookie choice in your browser.
- Image cache: a small background script (service worker) stores category and recently viewed product images on your device so pages load faster. It is limited in size and contains no personal data.
You can delete all of this at any time in your browser settings.
10. Service providers we use
We use trusted providers to run PickupChain. They process data only on our behalf and under data processing agreements:
- Render Services, Inc. (USA): website hosting
- Cloudflare, Inc. (USA): network delivery, security and visitor statistics
- Supabase, Inc. (USA): database and user accounts
- Resend: sending account and newsletter emails (sent from servers in the EU)
- Twilio Inc. (USA): sending SMS deal alerts, only if you opted in
- Google LLC (USA): AI assistant, and Google Search Console for search statistics
Some of these providers are located in the United States. Where data is transferred there, we rely on the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework if the provider is certified, or on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
11. How long we keep data
- Server logs: a few days to a few weeks, as set by our hosting providers.
- Account data: until you delete your account.
- Click records: as long as needed to reconcile commissions and for statistics, generally no longer than 24 months.
- Newsletter and SMS data: until you unsubscribe.
12. Your rights (GDPR)
You have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you,
- have it corrected or deleted,
- restrict or object to its processing,
- receive it in a portable format,
- withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future.
Just email info@pickupchain.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example in the EU country where you live or where we are established.
13. Your rights as a U.S. resident
Depending on your state (for example California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia or Utah), you may have the right to know what personal information we collect, to access or delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of its “sale” or “sharing” for targeted advertising.
We do not sell your personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use your data for profiling. To exercise any of your rights, email info@pickupchain.com. We will not treat you differently for doing so.
14. Children
PickupChain is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it.
15. Security
All connections to PickupChain are encrypted (HTTPS). Passwords are stored only in hashed form, and access to our systems is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.
16. Tire service directory
If you list a business in the tire service directory, we store business name, contact person, contact details, address and services. After email confirmation and review these details (except the email address) are shown publicly; customer requests are forwarded to you. If you send a request to a business, we store your details and forward them to that business. Legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time. Reports about listings are stored for review. Postal code data: GeoNames (CC BY 4.0).
17. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and the date at the top. For significant changes affecting account holders, we will let you know by email.
18. Contact
